JOHN TAYLOR
Thomas Utting had placed his Ashwellthorpe Canal House Estate with its 150 Acres, for auctions in March and May 1822 and it appears that Mr John Taylor was the proprietor or occupier between 1823 and 1827. John Taylor, gentleman, and his wife Amelia nee Whitty baptised two children at All Saints, Ashwellthorpe – Amelia on 13 January 1825 and John on 10 September 1827. It is probable that John Taylor, a bachelor of Newton in the Isle (of Ely), Cambridgeshire, married Amelia Whitty on 26 December 1822 at St John Timberhill, Norwich.
Nothing else is known about his ownership except that the Estate was sold on in 1828 to a Mr Robert Goose.
